Behind Sri Lanka's Once Youngest Billionaire - Roshan Perera

I really didn't know a person called Roshan Perera existed. See? I told you Sri Lanka is not educating the youth or anyone about people who achieved success.

At 22, Roshan was considered the youngest Sri Lankan billionaire entrepreneur.

Roshan Perera is a Sri Lankan entrepreneur, business tycoon and venture capitalist, employing more than 5,000 Sri Lankans. At the age of 22, Roshan Perera is considered the youngest billionaire businesswoman in Sri Lanka, running a company with a turnover of more than 10 billion Sri Lankan rupees.
Roshan Perera was born in 1976 and studied at St. Joseph's College in Sri Lanka.
After dropping out of Harvard Business School and returning to China, he established contact with Disney, especially with the then Disney Chief Executive Michael Eisner (Michael Eisner). In 1996, he persuaded Disney to visit Sri Lanka, regardless of the country's raging civil war. Here's the breakthrough the country needs: Disney is the only Fortune 500 company in the world sourcing products from this war-torn island, setting the stage for other companies like Hallmark to follow suit and boost the economy. Sri Lankan. Dissatisfied with simply making figurines for international brands, Perera launched his own brand, Bellucci.
Today, Roshan's business empire diversifies into ceramics, agriculture, packaging, freight, clothing and fashion, media, and investment in Australia and India.
Roshan is also the franchisee for Miss Sri Lanka, which is by far the most popular beauty pageant in the country.
Compared to the 1990s, his business interests have diminished. As we all know, he spends most of his time with his family in a village on the outskirts of Sri Lanka.
